I've never posted before, so the best place to start is to simply say: GREAT site!!! I really appreciate all the work that's put into this site, it's very entertaining.
If I could make any suggestion at all, it simply comes from personal experience.... It wasn't that long ago that I found this site, so I had a lot of catching up to do on past matches, and things of the such. One of my favorite wrestlers was Devi Lynn. In addition to being very small and cute, she was a little ball of energy and entertaining to watch. I notived that in one of the Summer Vengence tournaments, she was disqualified, and an exhibition match was held in place of what would have been her Summer Vengence match (June 10, 2008). I'm quite interested in what might have happened to her, because it doesn't appear she had any matches after that disqualification. I can't find any information regarding her disqualification, or exit from Ultimate Surrender.
I was thinking, perhaps a mini bio of random facts, highlights, etc. would be beneficial in the bio pages. I understand it would be a lot of work, but in certain instances, it could be very beneficial, especially as wrestlers come and go. It might be nice to see a paragraph or two for Ariel X, explaining the legacy she is currently creating on the site, because a day will come when she might not be here anymore, and it would be nice if someone like me comes along to the site, and can read in her bio how dominating she was, and why she was so important to the site.
So, in closing: What happened to Devi Lynn? I tried everything I could think of to find out, but I'm afraid I came up empty. Why was she disqualified from that tournament, and why did she not compete after that?
To further elaborate on what I was trying to suggest:
I was born in the 80s and I am a HUGE baseball fan. I wasn't around when Babe Ruth played, but I understand his signifigance to the sport, because his role and his accomplishments are well documented, not only in stats, but writing. Stats are very important, but imagine if you just knew how many home runs he hit. It kind of takes away from the enormous impact he had on the game.
I'll leave it alone now! hahahahaha. Thanks for humoring my suggestion, and I look forward to hearing what happened to Devi!!! hahahaha.
DEVI LYN is a fantastic young lady and a great wrestler she had wrestled before she joined U/S the only problem was that when in a hold she would
strugle frantically to release herself and she was a bit tough on the other girls she couldnt help using holds and muves from her past wrestling experience.
Although the wrestling is unscripted at U/S lots of the wrestlers are inexperienced we want to see them wrestle but not get injured doing so Matt always
puts the girls safftey first so for DEVII LYN and the other wrestlers saftey she was dropped, if you go to info and click all wrestlers there is a list and
fight history of all at U/S past and present jh/uk.
Thank you, very much, for the response! That thought had occured to me, that maybe she was a little too much for some of the other girls. In a couple matches, it would appear she would just sort of lay down while in a hold, and not even try to escape, and that always puzzled me because when she decided she wanted to get out of a hold, it didn't appear there was much anyone could do to stop her. hahaha. I read about her past wrestling experience, because it's listed in the match descriptions of a couple of her matches, claiming how they had to pair her up with slightly tougher wrestlers due to her experience. Perhaps it was her experience that made her one of my favorites to watch in the archives.
Thanks for the suggestion for the information and match history. I had become well acquainted with that feature of the website, and it's how I found Devi in the first place. And make no mistake, this isn't a suggestion based solely on Devi... I'm trying to think of how to better explain it...
Ok, so for each match that's out there, there is a short couple sentences or paragraphs that explain a little bit about the matches, and give you a little insight into what may have happened, and sometimes what happened BEFORE that match, leading up to it. I LOVE THAT!! I think those paragraphs are great, it provides a little bit of a story line almost. On the Info/Stats page you had mentioned, I think it would be great to list a couple sentences or paragraphs about the wrestlers themselves. There are a LOT of wrestlers that US had in the past, that aren't here anymore, and haven't been here since I started my subscription. Why should they matter to me? What made them goood/great? If US provides a little information about the wrestlers - perhaps what made them join US, a brief synopsis of their match records, if they did anything to further US (I believe, but don't hold me to this, I read on the forum once that Ariel X was the first wrestler to take a losing opponent to the wall and fuck them there. Now it seems like a common occurance, but perhaps Ariel X should be credited with having that great idea!!! hahaha), what they were known for, and why they left - then I think it could make the matches even more entertaining by giving a little story line behind who the wrestlers are. Every girl on the site is unique in some way, shape, form or fashion, but most of that gets lost in just the stats and match results. The stats and info page doesn't currently cover Summer Vengence matches, which to me, are some of the best ones out there. Listing awards, and Championships might be a great thing too.
I guess what I'm getting at is, US is already a great site. I have no idea (and sorry if this offends anyone) how anyone can watch the WWE...? It's scripted, it's corny, it's just bad in my opinion. US isn't scripted, and big sweaty men hugging and fake punching eachother is replaced by petite, cute, beautiful women who aren't following a script, and who are fighting in a VERY hot sexual style that's unlike anything else out there. But the reason WWE made it so big was because of it's behind the scenes stuff, it's story lines, etc. Hulk Hogan isn't really around much anymore, but even non fans know who he is and why he mattered. This site, clobbers the WWE (in my opinion, I don't mean to offend anyone, but you're entitled to your own opinions as well), and if the bio/storyline/info is added I think the site would be even better!
And I know... It would take a lot of work to go through and do something like that, but it's just a suggestion I think could make US elite.
If our opinions count, then yes history and records, small bio including the women who started-the pioneers, would enhance this site, which I think is already great. Matt does a Great job, but I agree about having new ideas and an open mind. P.T.
When I look for info about the wrestlers I find a match history and score history. I like it that I can link to their won or lost matches from that spot. I would like to see more about girls who have left, or been disqualified, Maybe they could write their resignation or explain themselves. I'm sorry to hear that Ally Ann is no longer wrestling and I really wonder why. I am so glad to hear that the girls earn money through their scores. But could you pay extra for those who earn POPULARITY points? That way girls like Kat and Yellow Kitty and Ally Ann and Justine Joli would feel it was worth it to stay.
