In this new Behind Kink video, Hogtied director Lochai enlists gorgeous Bella Rossi to help him demonstrate a couple of easy rope cuffs you can learn in minutes! Watch Lochai’s short rope lesson at BehindKink.com and please post in this thread if you’ve got questions about the cuffs or other rope ties! Lochai will stop by here periodically to answer your questions.
Here is the step by step breakdown for the "Texas Handcuff" quick tie...
Grab near the center of the rope with thumb up and hand open.
Close hand.
Grab the rope with the other hand this time thumb down and close hand.
Pull the rope level with both fists pointing out so that one rope end is out in front
and the other is in the back.
With pointer & thumb of both hands, reach thru the loops & grab the opposing loop with finger tips...
and pull out.
Place over wrists.
and pull the two loose ends to tighten rope.
Please feel free to post your questions here...
Which thickness of rope do you suggest to optimize comfort? And to keep that knot working tightly?
By the way: Thank you kindly for the pictures, I had to review the video a few times to catch the flicker of wrists.

Miss Rebelex,
The thicker the rope, the more comfortable it will be. In my personal play I use the rope in the video & pictures which is a 3 strand jute from Japan made specifically for bondage. It's 5mm thick. Since I do a lot of very fast ties as well as teach speed bondage I like the way this rope throws, lays & ties. It is not the most comfortable when tight because of how thin it is but in my personal play comfort is not something I am going for.
On Hogtied.com I use, as do most of the directors at Kink.com, a 4 strand twisted hemp rope that is 6mm thick. This is the most common thickness and hold knots very well and is more comfortable than 4mm. Now some people use 8mm hemp or jute ropes but personally I feel this is too thick for my style of bondage and you lose a lot of flexability.
Now for more comfort in a 6mm rope you can use nylon or cotton rope which will make a big difference in comfort.

Thank you! Behind Kink should run many more features of this type. Like me, many enthusiasts are probably self "taught" folks who rather than being part of a community, play at home with their significant others. Years ago, I bought a copy of "The Joy of Sex," turned to the chapter on bondage and for years used the that chapter and the boy scout handbook as a guide to bondage knots. Neither book is the best source of info where bondage ties are concerned. This is the best Behind Kink feature since the Knotty Boys piece.
Lochai, I really like the two variations you used in the piece. Quick, effective and with an eye to safety. Please do more.
As for ropes, I use two - standard off the shelf nylon that you can buy at Home Depot & Lowe's and my choice for "formal dress bondage." While I don't know what it's formally called, it's essentially the velvet rope that's used to tie back heavy formal drapes. Buy the heaviest stuff (biggest diameter) available. I bought mine in the drapery section of a local fabric store. It's dark green, soft, supple and looks wonderful against my partner's skin.
Thanks again. Please do more.

Since this is such a quick efficient tie it is used when a firefighter needs to keep an unconscious persons hands or feet together so they don't get in the way during a rescue. It is also used when there is not enough cool air in a room or the smoke is too low to do a back carry of a victim, The rescuer will tie this around the persons feet, attach the ends to their air pack or their own belt & will crawl out of the fire with the victim in tow.
This is where I first learned the tie, as a search & rescue firefighter.

Wow, you learn something new everyday!
Thanks Lochai.
Fabulous! Please do more of these lessons. I am a guy who wears loafers so he doesn't have to tie as many knots, and this is the first time I have gotten a bondage knot to work in practice. I can't wait to try it!
Thanks, and more, please!
That is so cool! You win buku kukos for that. How long were you a firefighter?

Thanks for the informative "lesson". I am a novice with rope -- did killer macrame in early years -- now I no longer wish to tie hanging plants...
I have a real "newbie" question: How do the Kink riggers, "bundle" your rope? I have seen the Two Knotty Guys video which uses the Chain Knot and others that make loops with the rope and then bind the outside.
But I have not seen any tutorials that leave the rope in the neat bundles that you guys use.
Can you point me to a place that has the instructions for the way Kink bundles rope?

Every director bundles their rope differently. I use a quick release method that I taught to my assistant so that I can uncoil my ropes quickly & with one hand. Maybe I will do another tutorial about different wayt to coil & store ropes. I actually teach a class where this is a part of the lesson.

Lochai,
Where do you teach such classes? When will they be offered again? Any suggestion for classes in NYC?
